It was better before, and after us the deluge! An article published yesterday in Le Figaro called on the parents of Generation Y and Z to bear witness to the ideology wokist of their offspring. And the least we can say is that they have a lot on the potato: these poor darons are censored and called to order all day long! In 2022 we can no longer use racist terms, let’s differentiate our waste and speak openly about gender. THERE IS BORING OF IT.
Today we can no longer say or do anything
Vegan children who refuse to eat foie gras and game at Christmas, others who insist that their mothers do separate collection… The parents interviewed by Le Figaro live a daily hell, hostages of those they call “the Khmer Verts” and feel the lack of the blessed days when you could buy fast fashion made in china in complete tranquility.
If at all times the previous generations have complained about the following ones, those who have generated the Gen Z and the Millennials they are right about one point: it was better before. In any case, it was much easier. As long as they conform to the roles assigned at birth and tolerate stereotypes of gender and origin without flinching. We could overconsume products made by underpaid children, make xenophobic and sexist jokes, eat kilos of meat… We had the good life. And access to information limited enough not to face the consequences of our actions.
Tired, Gen Z? It’s because he has no choice
But fake grease and recycling are not hipster whims. They are just catching up on decades of ecological backwardness. Nobody likes to separate cardboard and plastic, almost everyone likes hot tubs filled to the brim. But our generation can no longer afford the luxury of prioritizing their well-being over an uncertain future and must at all costs stem the environmental crisis before it’s too late. The current ecological disaster is a reality, not a delusion of unbearable young people who want to censure their parents and the shaky world they left behind. The new media do not warn about emerging issues and trends, they only reveal the consequences of decades of irresponsible behavior perpetrated in the general recklessness.
Instead of complaining that we can no longer do what we could do before (but should never have done), why not take an example from this new, more responsible and deconstructed generation? You will see the boomers, it’s very beautiful: there we are accepted as we are and we also laugh a lot, I promise.
