Even convicted, Adrien Quatennens persists in thinking that domestic violence does not concern him

While feminists are calling for his resignation and denouncing the softness of France Insoumise’s measures, Adrien Quatennens spoke in a long interview about the “ordeal” he went through and the “lynching” of which he considers himself a victim.

A river interview published a few hours after the sentence: the deputy of La France Insoumise Adrien Quatennens had the honor of an interview in the Voice of the North when he had just been sentenced to a 4-month suspended prison sentence for domestic violence.

Did you like his long speech as a wounded and dignified man who faces adversity (but certainly not violent because it was just a slap in the face and didn’t look like him)? You will definitely love the sequel!

“Media lynching” and private affair: Quatennens remains on his line of defence

Again, Adrien Quatennens keeps the domestic violence issue at a distance from his own case, which he does a private matter which belongs only to him, and whose place it would be “behind the closed doors of a couple story”. Further on, she reiterates, emphasizing what would ultimately be an almost banal situation in married life: “It is not a story of domestic violence. It is first of all the story of a couple who can no longer understand each other. A story that ends with a broken heart. It is a painful reality experienced by many French people. »

Not surprisingly, here too we find the rhetoric of “media lynching”of the’ “Disproportionate relentlessness” And “Media Court”. Adrien Quatennens reiterates his dignity, his choice not to deny the facts and to have gone through what he calls a “personal test” :

“Having done it, I simply discovered at 32 that in France, when you kneel down, acknowledge a fault and accept its sanction, the implacability does not stop: it even doubles in its own field. »

A case exploited at the top for Quatennens

For the first time he responds to his wife’s accusations. He claims he was put under pressure by her: “My ex-girlfriend openly threatened to ‘destroy my political commitment’ if I didn’t respond favorably to all her requests.”

Finally, Adrien Quatennens also enters the conspiracy theory, and believes that the speed with which this case was handled is indicative of a desire to bring it down from the Place Beauvau:

“The opportunity was too great to bring down the main spokesperson and coordinator of La France Insoumise. Several concurring sources tell me that this was directly orchestrated by the Home Office. Today I am unable to state this myself. What is certain, however, is that it is fast, efficient and very selective. Everything incriminating against me in the proceedings was leaked. But when it comes to my ex partner’s inconsistencies, that’s not the case. »

There’s one that obviously didn’t like it. It was Gérald Darmanin who neither one nor two announced that they wanted to press charges for defamation.

Feminists want Adrien Quatennens to step down

While the atmosphere at La France Insoumise is tense to say the least following the controversial appointment of Manuel Bompard as party leader, the Quatennens case will add a layer ? Shortly after the sentence handed down this morning on Tuesday 13 December, a press release was issued to announce the temporary removal of the deputy from the parliamentary group for a period of four months and the conditioning of his return to an accountability course on violence against women.

An answer that is far from sufficient for feminist activists and for the numerous elected representatives engaged against violence against women in politics, who continue to claim the resignation of Adrien Quatennens.
