By opting for a plea bargain procedure, La France Insoumise deputy Adrien Quatennens exposed himself to a conviction. The court of Lille handed down a fine of four months suspended sentence and a fine of 2,000 euros for damages against Cécile Quatennens.
Lfi deputy’s lawyer recalled at the end of the verdict which were deemed a slap “More than a year ago” in a context “mutual aggression” and text messages sent after their separation, and that Adrien Quatennens has not been found guilty of repeated acts of violence or acts of harassment.
In her November 2022 speech, Céline Quatennens said she has been suffering for years “angry”from “crisis” and of “physical and moral violence”. In September, he filed a complaint against Adrien Quatennens.
A return of Adrien Quatennens to the National Assembly soon?
And several LFI executives are already calling for the return of the one who has long been referred to as Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s successor. To say that justice is done… so let’s move on. “He has to come back, we have a lot of things on the grid, especially the pension reform, we need him on this pension reform” said Patrick Proisil, mayor of Faches Thumesnil. But other elected officials and activists do not hesitate to continue calling for the resignation of Adrien Quatennens:

What future for Adrien Quatennens within the party? Can it still carry on the project of a party that declares itself feminist and intends to protect women from sexist and sexual violence? According to a Yougov poll conducted in October, 57 percent of respondents were in favor of his resignation as deputy.
