Michael B. Jordan becomes co-owner of the English football club AFC Bournemouth

The actor, producer and director Michael B. Jordan is now a co-owner of the English football club AFC Bournemouth.

A statement by the Premier League club announced on Tuesday morning that an agreement had been finalized which will see the sale completed to a partnership led by American businessman Bill Foley and a minority group led by Jordan.

Foley is best known as the owner of the NHL franchise Vegas Golden Knights, the first professional major league team in Las Vegas. However, this is Jordan’s first attempt at professional athlete ownership.

AFC Bournemouth announced that Foley will take up the role of club president with immediate effect, working closely with Jordan and his business partner Nullah Sarker on areas such as “global marketing and internationalization of the club”.

The acquisition of Foley is the latest American investment in the Premier League after a group led by LA Dodgers owner Todd Boehly took over Chelsea in May. Jordan is also the latest high-profile Hollywood star to turn his business interests to English football.

AFC Bournemouth are based on the south coast of England and play in the Premier League, England’s top flight. The club are currently 14th in the Premier League and will resume their season after the World Cup break when they travel to Chelsea on December 27.
