Mash decided to explore the topic of stalking and interviewed a designer named Mira Miru, who has been accused of stalking for several years. The victim of being followed was Ekaterina Darma, editor-in-chief of BURO24/7, who shared her story on the summer Telegram channel.
Tracking (aka stalking) manifests in many forms, from intrusive messages to attention, threats, violence, and sometimes even death.
According to Mira, she was shocked by Catherine’s posting on Telegram, but she knew the editor-in-chief would do it. The designer said that he thought Catherine was not completely happy and that was what drove him to take such a crazy attitude towards the girl.
I got off balance: I said I loved him, I hated him. So in the end he didn’t understand what I wanted and I stopped explaining what I wanted. I was hoping you understood and would do something.”
During the dialogue, Mira admitted that she knew what she was doing anyway:
“I knew what I was doing wrong, I did it on purpose to make Katya feel bad. I followed Katya aggressively for two years. I really committed a moral crime against Katya.”
After the release of her story, eight more girls who were victims of the same person contacted Ekaterina, among them actress Maria Matsel, who shared her experience with Mash: “I felt really stupid.”
Mash also invited a psychologist to explain what stalking is, how it manifests itself, why people become followers, and what happens to them.
