SXSW Premiere “Hypochondriac” boarded by reel suspects

Exclusive: Paris-based Reel Suspects has acquired the rights to sell Edison Hayman’s horror thriller internationally. Hypochondria.

The image has been called a high-genre film and was recently premiered in the Midnighters section of SXSW. XYZ will release the film in the United States towards the end of July.

Written and first directed by Hayman, the film features Zach Villa (American horror story), Devon Gray (13 sinsand Madeleine Zima (California).

Villa plays Willie, a young gay Spanish potter with a loving boyfriend and a wonderful relationship who begins to show inexplicable symptoms when his bipolar mother emerges from a tree after ten years of silence. Something evil lurks out of the corner of his eye: a silent, clumsy man in a wolf costume. Willie becomes obsessed, determined to unravel this mystery.

The film was produced by Bey Dariz and John Umber under the banner of Minutehand Pictures.
