EXCLUSIVE: The second season of the Belgian crime series Fair trade must start.
Producer Independent Productions has titled the six-part second series Fair trade: the way backto distributor Silver Mountain Distribution.
The first season was a hit on VTM, VRT and Telenet’s Belgian SVOD service Streamz, with Ireland-based Silver Mountain claiming US series Mare at Easttown and undo it top the local stream charts.
Deadline revealed news about Season 2 in July 2021.
Prime Video, which had the first season in the Netherlands, has recorded the second season and plans to launch it in December. Streamz will debut in Belgium in February 2023. Amazon’s Freevee service and Brazil’s Globoplay also took over the first season for Germany and Austria
Set three years after the first, the series follows outcast cop Robin de Rover (Ella June Henrard) and drug lord “Padre” Paternoster (Peter Van Den Begin) as they team up to investigate the corrupt Rover boss’ killer, Chief Inspector to find out. . . Walter Wilson (Kevin Janssens). In addition to Peter Thyssen and Sven de Ridder, the Ukrainian actresses Kseniya Mishina and Polina Vasylina can also be seen.
Producer, writer and director Marc Punt of Independent Productions said the production of the second season “got off to a rough start as it was a big challenge to get our actresses from Kiev to Belgium, but everything went well, ” he added: “I admire your courage. You did a fantastic job.”
