Nikita Kobelev’s premiere in “The Practice” – dizzying surf
Time based on a play by Joel Pomer
When: 12 and 13 November 2022 | 19:00
Praktika Theater and Brusnikin Workshop is broadcasting a catwalk performance by Nikita Kobelev, based on a play by Joel Pomer, one of the leading French playwrights and directors. It explores themes through the prism of Western civilization and capitalism.
family, money, greed for power, idealism, loss of meaning of existence, change of formations – and their impact on basic human values.
There is no single plot in Circles/Fantasy. These are eight stories from different eras that are reassembled like multicolored lenses in a kaleidoscope to create a new semantic model. Each turn of the kaleidoscope provides new food for fantasy, each circle “echoing” in the mirrors of time.
Performance raises questions, but hardly answers: What is the connection between the medieval knight, the network salesman, and the head of a large corporation? Between a knight and a servant from 1914? Between an aristocrat from the 1900s and two couples from our time lost in the woods? Between a modern Macbeth ruler, a homeless woman in a parking lot, and an aristocrat who lost her baby? Finally, who is the host addressing? What does it represent and what does it invite us to dream about?
Address: Zubovsky boulevard, building 2, building 3
