Broadway Ain’t Mo’ Producer Lee Daniels announced today that NBA champion Dwyane Wade, actor Gabrielle Union and drag racing Star RuPaul joins the co-production team for the comedy, which performs tonight at the Belasco Theatre.
Wade will produce under his production company 59th and Prairie Entertainment, and Union will produce under his production company I’ll Have Another Productions. Ain’t Mo’ officially opened on Thursday 1 December.
The production, which combines sketch comedy, satire and avant-garde theater to ask the question, “What if the US government tried to solve racism by offering black Americans one-way tickets to Africa?” in 2019 in a twice renewed edition at The Public Theater premiere.
Written by and with Jordan E. Cooper, Ain’t Mo’ also Fedna Jacquet, Marchant Davis, Shannon Matesky, Ebony Marshall-Oliver and Crystal Lucas-Perry.
The production will be directed by Stevie Walker-Webb in his Broadway debut.
