Harvey Weinstein: the former tycoon accused of using his power to rape women

At the start of Harvey Weinstein’s second trial in Los Angeles, the prosecutor insisted on the abuse of power shown by the former cinema almighty to rape his alleged victims.

“His ultra-massive stature and enormous influence in the film industry have made him believe he has every right to assault his victims in hotel rooms,” thundered prosecutor Paul Thompson of Harvey Weinstein. These women “feared that he would destroy their careers if they told them what he inflicted on them”, she denounced again on Monday 24 October, as reported by the AFP.

Harvey Weinstein faces 11 charges

The second trial of the former Hollywood producer began in the Los Angeles courthouse on October 10. The former omnipotent of American cinema must answer 11 counts of rape and sexual assault on 5 women. The events allegedly took place in the hotels of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles between 2004 and 2013. A violence whose field of prosecution here tries to show the gears, accusing Weinstein of using his power to rape his alleged victims.
