“Elon Musk is currently under federal investigation for his behavior in connection with the Twitter acquisition,” the company said in a statement.
According to the agency, Twitter representatives have asked Musk’s lawyers for several months to secure his correspondence with federal authorities, but the messages were never delivered. Thereupon, the company decided to request documents through the court. After that, the billionaire’s lawyers provided a “privileged journal” with a list of documents that should not be made public.
A Delaware court has given Elon Musk the opportunity to close his Twitter acquisition deal by October 28.
Recall that in April, Elon Musk made a deal with Twitter to buy the social network. However, in July, the billionaire announced that he was withdrawing from the deal. One of the reasons was that Twitter representatives did not disclose about fake accounts and spambots.
