The MCU presents Skaar, the son of the Hulk: who is he and what is his story

The Series “She-Hulk” or on Disney + has just finished its first season, with a last chapter that has left multiple references to the entire multiverse, raising various issues, in addition to the appearance of cameos by different actors. One of these, and arguably the most relevant to the future of the franchise, is Hulk accompanied by his son, Skaar.

Although the character of Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, was not as prominent in the series as Marvel fans might have expected, the Hulk’s alter ego was the key to “She-Hulk” and the entire MCU. Not only because Jennifer Walters gets her powers from her blood, but also because her appearance opens the door to new possibilities within her story in the multiverse.

Introducing the Hulk’s son, Skaar, played by Wil Deusner, shows one of the consequences of the Hulk’s passage through Sakaar. Event that happened within the arc that covers the events between “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Thor: Ragnarok”, in which the God of Thunder finds Hulk on another planet, where he is a kind of gladiator.

Skaar is a hostile character in the comics

The story of Skaar is found between the comics “Planet Hulk” and “World War Hulk”. These stories describe how the Hulk gradually takes an active role on Sakaar, eventually overthrowing the Red King to take his place as green king. There, it intersects with Autumnbodyguard of the fallen leader, Skaar is born of the love between the two.

It should be remembered that neither the Red King nor the Caiera have been introduced within the MCU. This is due to the fact that, for a matter of licenses and rights, it was not possible to exploit the figure of the Hulk within the entire multiverse. So it was not possible to tell the whole story about him to clarify some aspects and further develop his character.

Due to his mother’s DNA, Skaar has a growth spurt. For this reason, both in the comics and in the MCU, his development exceeds normal time periods. In the comics, Caeira dies before his birth and after the departure of the Hulk from the planet Sakaar, his son is an orphan and must learn to live alone, making him acquire, within the comics, a hostile personality.

All these emotions are fundamental before meeting his father, the Hulk, who years later will solve the pending problems he left open to Sakaar in the comic “Word War Hulk”. Apparently this version of Skaar is much softer than the comics. So MCU fans are wondering if a next Hulk movie and the origin of his son will be in the plans of Marvel.
