The European Union has agreed on the eighth package of sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions affected 30 individuals and 7 legal entities.
The list of new sanctions includes well-known Russian artists: singer Yulia Chicherina, long-time supporter of Donbass, performers of patriotic songs Nikolai Rastorguev and Oleg Gazmanov. The EU has also imposed personal sanctions on political scientist Alexander Dugin (officially, the TFR investigation is still ongoing, NYT citing anonymously) when Central Election Commission chairman Ella Pamfilova and her daughter Daria died in a deliberate car explosion in August. Sources in the US intelligence services reported yesterday that the explosion may have been confirmed by representatives of the Ukrainian government).
Legal entities covered by EU sanctions included Goznak JSC, the Avangard machine-building plant and the Degtyarev plant. Sanctions were also imposed on Russia’s CEC.
As part of the eighth package, the maintenance of Russian crypto wallets, the ban on imports of Russian goods worth 7 billion euros, and other sanctions are also banned.
