Angelina Jolie filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, as part of the lawsuit over the sale of the Château Miraval winery, accusing him of domestic violence during their marriage. The New York Times writes about it, citing court documents.

The lawsuit details the conflict that occurred in 2016 that led to the couple’s divorce. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt flew with their children on a private jet from France to the United States, and Pitt allowed him to physically abuse his wife and children. Thus, “Pitt strangled one of the children and hit the other in the face,” and Jolie herself “grabbed her head and shook it.” He also poured beer and red wine on his wife and children.

A few days after this incident, Angelina filed for divorce. She also asked the FBI to investigate the case, she said. Pitt denies violence against his wife and children, but admits that he has problems with alcohol.

Representatives of the actress said that Jolie did not want to make this event public, but had to do so because of the lawsuit filed by Pitt over the sale of her stake in Château Miraval. According to Jolie’s lawyers, the deal to sell Jolie’s stake in the Château Miraval properties in France fell through after Pitt requested a confidentiality agreement over her “physical and emotional abuse” of Angelina and children.
