For those who have known Madmoizelle for a while, remember our section “In the apartment of …” ? Stopped in 2017, it is back in service now.
For this fourteenth episode, we will visit Priscilla’s superb apartment!
In Priscilla’s apartment

- What is your name and your age?
My name is Priscilla and I will be turning 29 next month.

- What do you do for a living ?
I am a nurse in a Parisian public hospital.
- What is the pedigree of your apartment? (location, how many square meters, monthly fee or purchase price)
My apartment is located in the Val-de-Marne, it is about 30 m² without counting the part of the penthouse that is difficult to access. The rent is 600 euros.

- You live alone?
Yes I live alone.
- If you had to give a word or phrase to describe your accommodation, what would it be?
I would say that it is a cocooning apartment, very quiet and pleasant to live in, especially in the summer to take advantage of the small green outside.

- If you were to interview your apartment, what would be its positive and negative aspects?
The good points: quiet, well located near the city center. I had a crush on it when I first saw the view from the outside.

The negative points: it lacks a bit of brightness in winter due to its exposure (East) and it also lacks a window in the bathroom, to be able to ventilate properly and put the plants!

Can you show us one (or more) objects that we can only find at home? An object found, manufactured, inherited …
I brought a hand-carved wooden giraffe and elephant from one of my trips to Cameroon.

- Do you have a decoration idea, not too expensive or even DIY that you are too proud of and want to share?
I am not a handyman, but I have recycled a kind of thick plastic bottle (PleurX) whose expiration date was expired which is normally used in the service to collect the fluid contained in the lungs (which is called chest drainage). I put a light garland inside to decorate my planter.

- IS that you had a big cracked wallet for something in your house?
I don’t know if it can be called “chapping” but I have invested a good amount of money in my high-end bedding: box spring, mattress, topper and sheets in cotton percale or cotton satin. I sleep so well it’s hard to get out of bed, but I think it’s more of an investment than an expense, because quality sleep is essential.

- What are your decorative quirks?
I really don’t have any passing fashion, I modify the furniture a little according to the season, for example in the summer I remove the carpets under the living room table and under the planter and in the winter I put them back with lots of candles for an even more atmosphere enveloping.

- Where do you feel most at home?
I feel good everywhere, but my favorite places are my sofa where I can admire most of my plants, and of course my bed!

- What is the music that plays most often in your home?
I listen to different types of music but mainly Latin and Afro music, I really like the singer Davido and his title Fall.
- Do you have work or decoration projects?
No projects in sight, I have already invested a lot in terms of layout and decoration of the apartment when I moved two years ago.

- Do you follow Instagram accounts for decoration inspiration?
Not really.
- How long do you see yourself living in your home?
I really like my apartment and if I were the owner I would stay there for a long time. But I’m planning on moving in next summer so I can really be at home in my apartment.
Thanks to Priscilla for this nice visit!
