II. On the eve of Elizabeth’s funeral, a solemn reception was held at Buckingham Palace for heads of state and foreign guests attending the memorial service. As part of this event, the new Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, met with Ukraine’s First Lady, Elena Zelenskaya.
To meet her, Kate donned a Catherine Walker bow dress (she wore it at Prince Philip’s funeral last year) and complemented it with a pearl bracelet that belonged to the former Princess Diana of Wales.
Middleton and Zelenskaya have met before. The President of Ukraine and his wife are already guests of Kate and Prince William during their 2020 visit to London. After the start of military special operations in Ukraine, Kate and William supported Ukraine and visited the cultural center of this country in London. Olena Zelenska also attended the memorial service at Westminster Abbey today.
