Corinne Masiero on incest: “It is under the cover of love that you are attacked”

Actress Corinne Masiero (seen in the series Capitaine Merleau and en Peau d’Âne at César 2021) tells, on the microphone of France Inter on 19 September 2022, that she was the victim of incest by an 18-year-old cousin when she was 8 years.

It is because she speaks the truth, without deviations or embellishments, that Corinne Masiero’s words sometimes disturb our society, and this is undoubtedly a good thing. She is best known for her role in the popular series Captain Marleau, and for her stunt in Bloody Donkey Skin at César 2021, the actress once again delivers a strong voice that puts France face to face with her silences and responsibilities. This time, Corinne Masiero expressed herself around incest September 19 at the microphone of France Interin the show “MagMa” by Sonia Devillers:

“The word is the spark that allows things to move later. It is these figures that affect incestuous families. I notice this when I do concerts with Les Vaginites [son groupe de musique, ndlr]. The audience is asked who was directly or indirectly affected here. We observe a forest of weapons that rises. It affects everyone directly or indirectly. “

Corinne Masiero says she was a victim of incest on France Inter

The now 58-year-old actress says she suffered incest from an 18-year-old cousin when she was 8 :

“When you face it, what do you represent next? We are nothing. We are an object, a piece of meat […]. And we keep it for life, we take care of it, we don’t recover. How to cut your leg and then learn to walk, but with one leg missing. […]

It is under the cover of love that you are attacked. ‘I like you, I like you, so watch us caress each other.’ This word ‘love’, I hate it. It no longer means “love”. “

Incest affects one in 10 people in France

In France, 7 million people are victims of incest, or one in ten, remembers the problem. Which leads Corinne Masiero to hammer home that we’re all interested:

” The only time when there is equality between social classes is the moment of incest: it affects everyone, equally, everywhere. “

Corinne Masiero also deplores the reversal of the guilt of incest:

“It’s up to the victim to be able to speak, it’s up to the victim to be able to take steps … It’s like abused women who are forced to leave: it’s not up to them to go out, it’s up to the aggressor to go out.”
