Ricky Martin has filed a lawsuit against his nephew, who previously accused him of rape, stalking and harassment. The musician accused his relative of extortion, malicious prosecution and damage to reputation and demanded $20 million in damages. This was reported by TMZ citing court documents at the disposal of the journalists.

Sanchez, the son of Ricky Martin’s sister, said he had a “romantic affair” with the musician for “seven months” and after it ended, Martin allegedly “didn’t get along” and began stalking him. After his accusations, the musician faced up to 50 years in prison.

Later, Sanchez voluntarily withdrew her lawsuit against the singer and admitted under oath that she had never been sexually assaulted by Martin. But the musician suffered greatly: he lost millions of dollars in contracts due to the scandal. His reputation was also damaged. Martin commented on the situation and wished his nephew all the best. The singer added that she wanted him to “find help and start a new life” and “not hurt anyone”.

Recall that recently this was not the first scandal associated with the name Ricky Martin. Earlier, the musician was sued by his former assistant. The woman said she “nearly saved” him when the singer’s career was in jeopardy, and said he did not pay her a commission on the singer’s earnings, as they agreed. She added that the musician mistreated her and created a “toxic work environment”.
