Eric Adams, the mayor of New York, will cancel all public events during the week after he was announced today that he was infected with Covid-19.
The spokesperson said he has a positive test today.
“This morning, Mayor Adams woke up with an alert voice and, as a precaution, ran a PCR test which is now positive,” spokesman Fabien Levy said in a statement Sunday.
“At the moment the mayor has no other symptoms, but he is already isolated and will cancel all public events of the week,” the note read. “He also intends to immediately begin taking antiviral drugs, which are offered free to New Yorkers, and urges all New Yorkers who have these drugs to take them.”
“While in solitary confinement, he will continue to serve New Yorkers by working remotely,” Levy added.
