Other standing ovations followed throughout the night, including a moving and extended ovation at the final curtain, with Michele crying and her co-star Tova Feldshuh, who also made her debut, receiving large bouquets of white roses.
Among those standing: eg spring awakening actor Jonathan Groff Rejoice Creators Ryan Murphy and Harvey Fierstein have added new material to this musical renaissance. Zachary Quinto was also present at the meeting. At the touch of the curtain, Michele seemed to point to the Count and left.
Michele will make her public debut on the show tonight, and while critics won’t be in attendance until later this month, audience members are already receiving reactions and social media reports from the show. Sources at the August Wilson Theater told Deadline that Michele got her first standing ovation when she walked in, and there were at least three more before the first act ended.
Michelle seemed to have a good laugh at some of the more harmless dialogue on the show, though given the crazy conspiracy rumors about her literacy, the joke was more than a little over the top: At the start of the show, a fan remembers growing up with. Henry. Street in Brooklyn, observing: “I haven’t read many books.”
She also makes her debut on the Feldshuh show tonight as Mrs. Bryce. During the curtain call, Feldschuh pushed a tearful Michele forward so that he was left alone, but Michele grabbed Feldschuh’s arms and pulled him away, sparking even more applause. Neither Michele nor Feldschuh gave veiled speeches.
