The daughter of the philosopher and political scientist Alexander Dugin died while returning from the patriotic festival “Tradition”, which he visited with his father. The SUV Daria was driving exploded while she was in motion.

The tragedy occurred on the evening of August 20 on the Mozhaisk highway near the village of Bolshie Vyazemy. According to Izvestia, Dugin witnessed what happened – he was driving after his daughter.

Violinist Petr Lundstrem said on his Telegram channel that Alexander should have been in the exploding jeep, but switched to another car at the last moment.

The causes of the incident are being investigated. According to preliminary data, an explosive device detonated in the car. The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Moscow Region of Russia opened a criminal case against the death of Daria Dugina, a murder committed in a generally dangerous manner.

In July 2022, the UK imposed sanctions on Daria Dugina. His father has been on the US, EU and Canadian sanctions lists since the mid-2010s.
