Alexander Sokurov presented his new film “Tale” at the film festival in Locarno (Switzerland). At a press conference, the director said that his film might not be very well received in Russia.

“Fairy Tale” participates in the main competition program of the festival, held in Locarno from August 3-13. The painting is devoted to the theme of the Second World War, while its subject, according to the director, is “great”.
At the same time, Sokurov called “Tale” an optimistic work.
Previously, in June, Alexander Sokurov was not allowed to leave Russia for Finland, where he was going to fly to a cultural conference in Milan. Allegedly, it was said that he could not set out on the orders of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
A few months ago, the director argued with Russian President Vladimir Putin about Russia’s territorial integrity and suggested that the parts of the country that wanted to secede should be “released”.
