In the small fashion scene, Thebes Magugu is becoming more and more well known. This young South African and homosexual designer won the LVMH award (prestigious fashion competition) in 2019 with his style that questions genres and the very notions of identity, resilience and resistance. From his Johannesburg studio, he signs a new one collaboration with adidas, due out on August 15, 2022. This should help make it known to a wider audience and at a more affordable price.
Thebe Magugu x adidas sign inclusive sportswear
The result is a high-performance sportswear, mainly inspired by tennis for the first release level.. They will also be worn by professional players such as Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger Aliassime and Daria Kasatkina (who recently came out), as well as wheelchair tennis champion Dana Mathewson.
In addition to elegant dresses with technical materials, partly recycled, colorful, graphic and hypnotic patterns, the Thebe Magugu x adidas collaboration also includes full coverage swimwear up to size 4XL. Something to please many people, including supporters of modest fashion.
As if that weren’t enough, this sports and fashion collaboration also includes clothes cut for running, soccer, cycling, gym, which of course you can deviate in your sauce, if only to relax at home. Saraa second part of this version (Where is it drops, as they say in fashion jargon), scheduled for October 2022.
Everything is resolutely free genderand was designed with Unitefit, a fit system created with a range of sizes, genders and shapes in mind.
Thebe Magugu explains his inspirations in a press release released by the media WWD :

The Thebe Magugu x adidas collaboration will be available from August 15, 2022 in a selection of physical stores and on the adidas eshop.
