Does clothing make power? This is the question we can ask ourselves in the face of the latest controversy that is stirring up the French National Assembly: must tie be made compulsory so that deputies look like deputies? It is also a question posed in her own way by Lena Mahfouf, alias Lena Situations, who states herself as the most influential content creator in France, and perhaps also the most profitable, therefore powerful.
The entrepreneur has just launched her brand, Hôtel Mahfouf: no suit boss girl in sight, but rather a jumpsuit such as a work suit (pink), a jogging suit, loose and comfortable pants and a t-shirt. In a completely different register, the first lady of Ukraine at war, Olena Zelenska, is on the cover of the rowing Use and use (stage) fashion as a weapon of political diplomacy.
In other words, fashion is eminently political, of course, and we can play with it to claim, embody or subvert power. This is in particular what we will try to unveil in the next issue of JT Mode, this Tuesday, August 9, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on the Madmoizelle Twitch channel. With streamer ItsSarou, this time we will receive the fashion historian Salomé Dudemaine and the designer of the fashion brand Omôl, Nathalie Chebou Moth.
Salomé Dudemaine and Nathalie Chebou Moth, guests of JT Mode on 9 August 2022

An educated art historian, Salomé Dudemaine is a consultant for luxury homes for the conservation and enhancement of their heritage. She strives to bring together all kinds of archives, from clothing to fashion show photos, in order to create a link between history and contemporary creation. She is also a co-founder of Clawthe magazine that tells another fashion story based on clothing labels.
As for Nathalie Chebou Moth, she studied macroeconomics and microeconomics to become a financial market expert. After years of experience in the banking sector, she moved on to more creative media, beauty publishing and tourism, while she trained in the fashion professions. In November 2018, the self-taught multitasker created Omol, his own brand made in africa. Since then, ten artisans have worked in the sewing workshop she founded in Douala, Cameroon for the bold and empowering creations of her independent label.
