After a 2021 edition dedicated to the performances of masculinityThe Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles are back, giving the place of honor to women.

This year, the photo festival a international influence welcomed a selection of works around feminist struggles, indigenous or ecological.

“It’s not cake” in Dijon until April 30th

The very young International City of Gastronomy and Wine opened its doors to Dijon in May. His first temporary exhibition is dedicated to French pastry. And not to be mistaken, the very famous chef Pierre Hermé is sponsor of the event.

“Women photographers of war” in Paris until December 31st

Presented at the Liberation Museum, ” Female photographers »Proposes a focus on eight artists having covered international conflicts ever since the 1930s and until 2011. The exhibition highlights the involvement of women in a male-dominated profession. We discover images taken on the battlefield, but also the moving portraits of the families in the face of war.

On the website of the Museo della Liberazione we read that the exhibition ” questions the notion of gender, questions the specificity of the female gaze on war, it shakes some stereotypes, shows that women are as much transmitters of images as witnesses of atrocities. “ From Iraq to Cambodia passing through Nazi Germany, the exhibition retraces 75 years of history through female eyes.

“Celtic?” In Rennes until 4 December

Located in Rennes, the Musée de Bretagne welcomes “Celtique? »For a dip Celtic culture. Dances and music, passing through the druids, the triskels and the many legends about the forests, Brittany is often associated with Celtic culture. “Mimesi. A living design” in Metz until 6 February

The Center Pompidou-Metz presents a series of 400 works by 90 creators who welcomed nature in their creationone way or another.

Mixing art, technique and philosophy, the exhibition traces the evolution of nature in the drawing. It brings together the major international designers to show how this form of technical and artistic expression draws from nature and the organic. “Mimesis” proposes a trip around the world, from the United States to France via India and Japan.
