The employees on the air have long represented the union, but now they have joined 69 journalists, producers, editors, production assistants and others who not only cover and produce the show, but also create NewsTimeAn expanded fingerprint and one-hour documentaries in prime time. NewsHour Productions, which produces the show, has officially recognized the bargaining unit, with more than 70% of the show’s employees signing a union petition.
