Actress Chulpan Khamatova, who left Russia after the start of military special operations in Ukraine and settled in Riga, gave a video interview to the Estonian portal RusDelfi and explained how her assimilation in Latvia was going. Khamatova admitted that the move fixed her professional plans and dreams, but the opportunity to continue working is “rehabilitation” for her.

“The stress has not passed” and “there is longing,” said Khamatova. At the same time, the actress believes that it is “absurd” to project her “longing” while other people lose her home.

He also added that in the first place, when the immigration problem arose, he was ready for anything: be it a taxi driver or a courier for a delivery service.

Khamatova explained why she chose Latvia.

Khamatova also did not prosecute those who returned from exile to Russia.

The actress spoke about the first premiere performance of Alvis Hermanis “Postscript” at the New Riga Theater, where the capital now serves instead of “Contemporary”.
