Korean CJ To Launch CJ ENM Studios Focusing On K-OTT Content

Media giant CJ ENM has launched CJ ENM Studios, a new company specializing in content production for OTT platforms in Korea and around the world. Yong Su Ha, former Vice President of the investment and business development team of CJ ENM, has been appointed CEO.

CJ ENM Studios will join Korean entertainment group Dragon’s existing studio and its recently acquired Endeavor Content. It is designed to cover a wide range of different genres and plans to recruit star talent/creators and expand its presence by acquiring top manufacturing companies.

CJ said today that the new team will “act as another base for content production. The strategic move to launch CJ ENM Studios comes at a time of high global demand for K content, and the multi-studio structure will be one of the keys to CJ ENM’s global competitiveness.”

The three studios under CJ ENM are part of the company’s plan to strengthen its global content production and multi-studio structure. Behind worldwide hits like Studio Dragon Crash Landing You, hometown of Cha Cha Cha AND My sweet home And it plans to increase the volume of scripted content production. Endeavor Content, which was recently acquired by CJ ENM in a $785 million deal, produces content and also uses its global network to distribute CJ ENM content.

Ha joined CJ ENM in 2018, overseeing business strategy, mergers and acquisitions. Before becoming Head of Management Support (CFO) at CJ ENM, he was Head of Corporate Business Strategy at CJ Group, who first joined the company in 2009.
