I learned that the United Talent Agency’s Beverly Hills headquarters was evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat in the form of a suspicious package.
According to the source, the package was received between 11:20 and 11:30 am. As a precaution, everyone was asked to leave the building on Civil Center Drive, a UTA spokesperson told Deadline. After police investigated the threat, employees were only allowed to return to their offices after an hour outside the building, the spokesman said.
Since UTA employs shorter working days on Fridays, not all employees were in the office today.
While rare, similar incidents have occurred in the past involving Hollywood talent agencies. CAA’s Century City headquarters evacuated for hours in 2015 after a suspicious package was delivered to a bank in the same building, and WME employees had to evacuate a Beverly Hills building in 2018, including due to a suspicious package. . In both cases, employees were allowed to return after a police threat assessment.
