When the Peaky Blinders greet each other on British television tonight, the BBC will present their creator’s first show, Stephen Knight, in a new program.
Shot in the UK and Morocco, SAS: Rebel heroes It is a dramatized account of how the largest special forces unit in the world, the SAS, formed under extraordinary circumstances during the darkest days of World War II. With Conor Swindels, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Allen, Sophia Butella and Dominic West.
The show’s screenwriter and executive producer Stephen Knight says, “It was a privilege to work on a project that tells the story of a rebel group of soldiers who used their cunning and imagination, as well as the power of fire, to stop the Fascist March North Africa in the Darkest Days of World War II This is a war story like no other, told in a way that is both factual and true to the adventurous and incompetent spirit of this legendary brigade.
SAS: Rogue heroes Produced by Kudos (Banijay UK Company) for the BBC and Nebulastar for Epix and set to be released later this year on BBC One, iPlayer and Epix in the US, the six-part drama is based on a book by historian and journalist Ben McIntyre.
