Jane Goodall’s life is great and Barbie wants to celebrate it. The primatologist, nearly 90, went to great lengths to change our view and provide great knowledge about chimpanzees and great apes.
Today the American manufacturer Mattel has decided to put the career of this great woman in the foreground, and to dedicate a brand new Barbie to her, made with recycled plastic.
The Barbie Jane Goodall, a stimulating toy
Jane Goodall, in Barbie, is accompanied by the equally famous chimpanzee David Greybeard, a pair of binoculars and a small blue notebook.

Joining the “Exceptional Women” collection made up of inspirational Barbies such as those of the Queen of England, Maya Angelou, Naomi Osaka or even Sarah Gilbert, the co-creator of the Covid AstraZeneca vaccine, confided Jane Goodall, in an interview reported by the media Geo :
I’ve been suggesting for a long time that girls don’t just want to be movie stars, many of them, like me, want to be in nature to study animals. […]
When I was growing up, there were no female role models. My heroes, my role models were Tarzan, Doctor Dolittle … There were no women doing the kind of thing I wanted to do.

The primatologist advises girls who, like her, would like to change things ” take a walk in nature, learn to love it and then protect it “.
If you want to get this Barbie, it’s available for € 50.99 on the Mattel website.
