There’s another entry in rapper Kodak Black’s long history of legal trouble. The artist was arrested on Friday after dozens of oxycodone pills were found in his car during a traffic stop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The 25-year-old rapper was driving a Dodge Durango in Fort Lauderdale when police pulled him over because they suspected he was illegally painting glass. Police led a search of his truck, claiming it smelled like marijuana. 31 pills and $74,960 cash out.
The vehicle’s license and labels have also expired. Black was transferred to Broward County Penitentiary on charges. According to TMZ’s report.
Black, who was born in Duson Octave and later changed his legal name to Bill Kahn Capri, had many problems with the law. He is known for hits like “No Flockin” and “Roll in Peace” and has sold over 30 million singles since 2014.
Earlier this year, Black was identified as one of three people shot outside a Justin Bieber party in West Hollywood, according to law enforcement officials and various media reports.
Black fled the scene after the incident, but later called police from a nearby location to report that he had been shot.
President Donald Trump commuted Black’s three-year federal prison sentence in 2020 for forging documents used to purchase weapons from a Miami gun shop. Currently, Black has served half his sentence.
In April, Black was sentenced to parole for assaulting a teenage girl in a South Carolina hotel room. He accepted a plea bargain on the original rape charge and pleaded guilty to first-degree assault.
He was also charged with possession of property in Fort Lauderdale earlier this year.
