Emilia Clarke spoke to the Daily Mail about the brain surgery she had while filming Game of Thrones in 2013.

For the first time, the disease made itself felt at the very beginning of the work in the series: in 2011, the first burst of aneurysm led to a stroke – this happened shortly after the shooting of the first series of Game of Thrones. Two years later, the problem was back again: A medical exam in 2013 showed the aneurysm was twice as large. In this regard, the actress needed a brain surgery.

Emilia herself believes that she was lucky: she was among the people who survived and did not face terrible consequences. Thus, the actress states that she has an excellent memory, which she constantly trains.

After the operation, the actress began to feel different: Clarke stated that she stopped thinking about exactly what was happening to her brain because she thought it was pointless.

Earlier in an interview, Emilia admitted that she began to fear losing her job after suffering a stroke.

Now Emilia Clarke also helps those with the disease: she opened a charity called SameYou, which provides assistance to people who have had a stroke.
