Bill Gates said on Twitter that he plans to transfer almost all of his personal wealth to the charitable foundation Gates Foundation.

According to the entrepreneur, he will transfer $20 billion to the fund next month as part of expanding its operations. At the same time, he admitted that by making this transfer, he will be removed from the list of the richest people in the world.
Gates, 66, stressed that he is committed to giving back the accumulated resources to society in a way that will help “reduce suffering and improve life,” and said he hopes other wealthy people will take steps in this direction.
Recall that the Gates Foundation was founded in 2000 by Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda Gates. It is considered the largest private foundation in the United States with over $50 billion in assets.
