the innocent tells the story of Abel, the character played by Louis Garrel. He panics when he finds out that his mother Sylvie, who is in her sixties, is about to do so marry a man in prison. Supported by Clémence, her best friend, he will do anything to try to protect her. But the meeting with Michel, his new father-in-law, could well offer Abel new prospectives…
A French pop comedy
among his own Neon Light and its original soundtrack that does honor French rock from the 80s, the innocent I promise to be resolutely cool and pop. If it comes to prison and robbery, the trailer also gives us an idea a light and funny movie. when Presentation of the film in CannesLouis Garrel explained that he wanted mix genres :
I said it was almost a Poitou-Charentes robbery movie. A local, from home thing. And the marriage, with the film about the robbery, which makes an alliance that comes from home.

the innocent is the fourth film by Louis Garrel, the director of Of them Friendsfrom The faithful man and of The crusade. She will appear in the lead role alongside Noémie Merlant (seen in Portrait of the girl on fire) and Roschdy Zem, who received the Cesare as best actor in 2020 for the film Roubaix, a light.
