TelevisaUnivision has announced that its Vix + streaming service will launch on July 21, with a monthly price of US $ 6.99 and MX $ 119 in Mexico.
The premium tier joins the free ad-supported Vix, launched in March. The broadcast moves follow the formation of TelevisaUnivision as a company earlier this year following the closing of a $ 4.8 billion merger between Univision and Mexican media holding Grupo Televisa.
Along with the United States and Mexico, Vix and Vix + are distributed in most Spanish-speaking countries Latin America. TelevisaUnivision said it felt that the audience for the Spanish-language broadcast was insufficient. Vix + will launch more than 70 original series and films in its first year.
