Mark Elkhuri has been a fan of Kanye West since 2009. It all started when Kanye’s songs calmed him and instilled faith when his fan’s mother died. After a while, his love of music turned into a business.

Elkhuri opened College Dropout Burgers. The name is a reference to Kanye’s debut studio album released in 2004. A bear was depicted in the logo of the institution – a symbol of the era of the album The College Dropout, and the names of the dishes were associated with pieces by West.
Maybe Mark expected mutual affection from the rapper, but Kanye didn’t like the idea at all. Through his lawyers, he sent a notification to the hamburger shop stating that the workplace should be closed. True, the restaurant located in the north east of Melbourne still managed to be saved. According to The Age, Elkhuri came up with a solution – the rapper had to paint his images himself, change the logo and concept of the entire establishment. “We must respect their wishes, but keep moving forward,” added Mark.
The revamped burger joint will continue to be called College Dropout Burgers, but the menu will be replaced with names from famous dropouts, including Steven Spielberg, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg. This is apparently a reference to Elkhuri himself (he left college to go into business).

The situation with Kanye did not affect Mark in any way – the attitude of a musician to his work. He said that he continues to be a fan and supports him in everything. At the same time, the owner of the burger shop still hopes to negotiate with West and one day includes his name on the menu.
