Although we still enjoy the first days of summer of this 2022the fashion always one step ahead and there are already many collections presented for the season of spring-summer 2023† These proposals are usually presented in Septemberabout six months before they go on sale, but more and more fashion companies are deciding outside the official calendar and choose to do parades in magical places, value clothing and accessories they merge and merge with the enclave.
The last example can be found in the spanish tailoring company manwho presented his proposal yesterday spring-summer 2023 in an enclave located within The moral of Madrid: the Villalis Palace† And what better way than designer of the signature, Jaime Alvarezto explain in the following: interview what does it consist of Estatea proposal with which he returns to his youthbut in what? contemporary and trendy accents are also very present:
Roots is the name of Mans’ proposal for Spring-Summer 2023. What do we find in it?
This collection is an exercise in going back to my roots, to my city, to what Mans was when he started. A collection that regains relaxed customization, but no less extensive, with outfits sportier with a touch of sophistication that we try to keep season after season, along with color and joy.
What inspired you to create this collection?
It is a mix of different themes. On the one hand, the Ascot races and their powerful aesthetic, with striking hats, color and strength. On the other hand, the horse and everything that goes with it: from this animal’s step to its hair, creating a special… Animal print. It’s a collection with lots of color and power that leaves dark colors aside to welcome summer.
Customization plays a fundamental role again, right? Why did you decide this was the centerpiece of your business?
It will always play a leading and fundamental role in my collections. It’s a trade I don’t want to lose, but unfortunately it is seen less and less. There are fewer and fewer professionals who focus on this beautiful profession. My grandfather taught me what a good suit is, the value of a good fabric or the precision of a good cut. With that, you don’t need more props to go anywhere.
Will we find many differences between Raíces and the previous collections?
From the aesthetic point of view they are completely different, it is a different time and a different inspiration. They have a lot in common, like customization, but this time it’s much sportier and chic† The previous collection was an ode to the luxurious and refined 1920s.
As for the staging of the parade, why the Villalís Palace in Madrid as the setting for this proposal?
We wanted an open space, in the open air, that breathed the essence chic and a bit of Ascot that we want to convey in this collection. It is a neoclassical palace in shades beiges who give that sobriety that each makes look Highlight. We’ve given the space brushstrokes of fluorescent colors to brighten up the bucolic romanticism of the location.
What do you think contributed to Spanish menswear?
I honestly don’t know that well, but we’ve always opted for that balance between classic and new, and between craftsmanship and manufacturing innovation. We have achieved that a suit jacket is not only seen for special occasions, but for every day of the week.
As he himself noted Jaime Alvarezthe equestrian lifestyle of southern Spain in which the designer lived inspired this proposal for the next one spring/summer 23 from man† The photos show that the garments are sprinkled with vibrant colors and patternsnot only from galloping horses, but also tropical flowers. The intention of the maker is that this spontaneous proposal can be taken away all occasions and may it be appreciated by men as well as women† Because even if it is a male signature, the amount of shades and silhouettes makes your designs sensitive fall in love with it too† The most recent evidence can be found in the singer Aitanawho recently wore one two orange men’s pieces In a television program.
The designer has already claimed that the central axis of Estate is the modern dressmakingshine in classic fabrics like Prince of Walesthe gingham and the diplomatic line those calls fond memories of his grandfather† But the bright pink, the Orangepurple or light blue turn that note up contemporary and trend dyeing materials such as: denim in different washes, silkthe linen and the cotton biological. In short, through a concept retrofuturist of conscience and eco-sustainabilitythis collection explores the spectrum of masculinity in all its versions: youthful, sexy and fun, but comfortable and stylish. Estate pays tribute designer heritage while look at the future of the young Spanish house.
