Last week, Kim Kardashian was at the center of a scandal. The star has been accused of ruining the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress she wore to the Met Gala this year. Photos have surfaced online showing the movie legend’s outfit being badly damaged after being put on. There are tear marks on the dress and not even a crystal anywhere.

On the Today show, Kardashian first commented on the allegations. The star said she wore a dress by employees of the private Ripley’s museum, who wore gloves. “I went out on the red carpet in a bathrobe and slippers, got dressed, and went up the stairs. It stayed on me for about 3-4 minutes. Then I changed on the top rungs of the stairs,” she said.

Kim also admitted that she was surprised that some people had no idea who Marilyn Monroe was. “It shocked me. I respect her, I understand how important this dress is to American history,” she said.
