Guy Ritchie to Direct Disney’s ‘Hercules’ Movie

According to Deadline, British director Guy Ritchie (Cards, Money, Two Smoke Barrels, Snatch, The Gentlemen) will direct the film version of Disney’s 1997 classic Hercules.
The film will be produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO production company, which produced Avengers: Endgame. Dave Callaham (Shan-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) wrote a draft of the script along with revisions from other writers – AGBO is currently seeking writers for the project.

The animated film Hercules, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, is a musical written by Alan Menken, whose soundtrack has worked on The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas and Aladdin. The plot of the painting is built around the life and exploits of the character of Greek mythology Hercules, the son of Zeus and Alcmene.
Guy Ritchie previously directed a movie adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin, which was released in 2019.
