“Grustnogram” appeared in Russia – “a social network for the sad”
Russian developers have created a new social network called “Grustnogram”. It appeared against the backdrop of blocking Instagram (Instagram is owned by Meta, which is recognized in the Russian Federation as an extremist organization).
The tape in “Sadnogram” is almost identical to its foreign counterpart, but all the images added are automatically black and white – “sad”. According to the developers, this will allow Russians to post photos in these difficult times without suffering from the choice of filters.
Instead of likes under the photo, you can put a reaction in the form of a broken heart. The system also allows users to find “sad” citizens. So far, Sadnogram only has one website, but the creators promise to launch the app soon.

“Grustnogram” was a response to an import substitution initiative in the form of a social network called “Rossgram”, which was expected to launch the day before.
– one of the developers, Alexander Tokarev, told Afisha Daily.
The co-founder of the project, Ivan Semkin, noted that the developers wanted to show what a service for citizens might look like in current realities.
The prototype “Sadnogram” was created in just a week, the project team consists of four people. The creators of the social network note that the project is non-commercial.
In addition to the “Grustnogram” created as a joke, Russia promised to launch a full-fledged Russian analogue of the banned Instagram. Rossgram was supposed to launch yesterday for partners and media, but the social network hasn’t started yet and the countdown on the site has been updated.
