Bianca Balti, 41, recently shared her story in an article on Substack. In the article, the model, who started treatment for ovarian cancer in October 2024, stated that she sent a letter to the company during the week starting from October 6 and asked to be allowed to walk in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show on October 15.

Balti wrote: “I don’t know where the courage came from, but I did it. The only thing we regret in life is missed opportunities. So I asked myself: “What do I have to lose?” – and I decided. I looked up email addresses on LinkedIn and sent this open letter to everyone I could find in the company.”

The model added: “I’m not the youngest, curvy or fit. But I’m strong, bold and vibrant – and still very sexy. I wear my scars with pride and I wear my growing hair with pride. If I had walked that catwalk, it wouldn’t just have been a personal dream come true; it would have sent a message to millions of women: “Despite the difficulties, life goes on. You haven’t become less feminine. You are a whole. You’re sexy.” You’re unstoppable.”
