The legendary exorcist may return to the big screen! According to Deadline, DC Studios president James Gunn is meeting with Keanu Reeves about the sequel to Constantine.

The producer noted that they had already discussed this project with the actor, but the script of the film was not ready yet and work on it was at an early stage. It is known that Keanu Reeves himself has repeatedly expressed his desire to reprise the role of John Constantine and admitted that he has been dreaming of a sequel for more than ten years.
They also worked with the original film’s director, Francis Lawrence, to develop their ideas based on new stories taken from the comics and present them to the studio.
“Director Francis Lawrence and I have been trying to make this movie for over a decade. We recently put the story together, pitched it to DC Studios, and they said ‘OK’. Now we’re going to try to write a script,” Reeves shared.
Let’s also remember that the movie “Constantine: Lord of Darkness”, released in 2005, gained cult status over time. The film is considered one of the darkest comic book adaptations. In September 2024, rumors emerged that the second part of the film was in development, but the project was frozen following a change in management at DC Studios.
By the way, it was previously known that Keanu Reeves would appear in the production on Broadway for the first time. Read more here.
