On March 13, Demna Gvasalia was known to have left her position as the Creator Director of Balenciaga after a decade of the brand’s aesthetics. After that, the designer moved to another fashion house – Gucci.

It was assumed who could replace social networks for a long time. Some thought Peter Mulie would be the new creative director, but as a result Pierpaolo took a place.

Piccioli started his career in the fashion industry, worked at Fendi and joined Valentino in 1999, where he worked for the first time with accessory design. In 2008, Maria Grazia Kuri, along with the brand’s joint Crew, has kept this position alone since 2016. Under his leadership, Valentino received a modern sound while maintaining his romantic aesthetics.

The appointment of Piccioli to the Balenciaga Creator Director points to a significant change in the direction of the brand, which is associated with provocation and avant -garde collections under the leadership of Demna Gvasalia. Piccioli is expected to bring a more romantic and sophisticated approach to the design, which can attract a new audience to Balenciaga and change the perception of the brand in the fashion industry.
