Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved an updated animal list, which is forbidden to do home care. The relevant order is published on the legal information portal.

The list includes 121 animal species that pose a potential threat to humans or form a complex for captivity. Restrictions are related to both wild mammals and some reptiles, birds, fish, amphibians and spider -shaped species.
Now, lions, tigers, elephants, rhinos, water stallion, primates, hedgehogs, wolves, foxes, crocodiles, poisonous and large snakes and many other animals have been banned. The order will enter into force on September 1, 2025 and will work for six years.
The document offers exceptions: restrictions do not apply to zoos, circuses, oceans, dolphins and animals in other organizations with a suitable license.
