Ren, the national energy company, reported that the reason for the interruption of light in big cities in Europe was named.

According to the company, the event is associated with abnormal fluctuations in the cables on the 400 kV lines caused by sharp temperature changes in the middle of Spain. This, in their opinion, led to strong voltage fluctuations that later spread to the Portuguese energy system. At the same time, the company stressed that the exact reasons for the incident have not yet been established.

The situation began to balance: France has already restored the power network and offered the emergency assistance of Spain in the form of electricity.

According to Eduardo Prieto, the President of the Red Eléctrica Operations, the restoration of the electrical supply can take six to ten hours and a complete return to normal life is up to a week. There is a mixing in the supermarkets of Spain and Portugal: people sweep from shelves from the shelves, including water and food.
