Apple’s Benjamin Franklin series starring Michael Douglas adds Noah Jupe, Ludivine Sagnier, Daniel Mays, Assaad Bouab and others; Filming begins in Paris

We can reveal that Apple’s Benjamin Franklin anonymous TV series starring Michael Douglas is set in Versailles, outside of Paris.

Noah Jup (Peaceful place) Will play Douglas (as Benjamin Franklin) as Temple Franklin, the diplomat and secretary of his grandfather Benjamin.

The eight-episode limited drama explores the story of one of the greatest gaming events of Benjamin Franklin’s career. At the age of 70, with no diplomatic training, Franklin convinced France, an absolute monarchy, to base the American experiment on democracy. Thanks to his fame, charisma and wit, Franklin defeated British spies, French informants and hostile colleagues, all during the Franco-American Alliance of 1778 and the final peace with England in 1783. The eight-year French mission is the Franklin’s longest lifeblood service in his country, without which the United States could not have won the revolution.

Emmy series and WGA award-winning writer Kirk Ellis (John Adams) and DGA and Emmy Award-winning director Tim Van Patten, based on the book Great improvisation: the birth of Franklin, France and the United States Pulitzer Prize Winner Stacey Schiff.

The drama is a co-production between ITV Studios America and Apple Studios and is written and produced by Kirk Ellis and directed by Tim Van Patten, who will co-produce with Michael Douglas, Richard Plpler via EDEN Productions and Tony Krantz. Via Flame Ventures.
