There is less than a month left until the new year, and this is noticeable in how Russian cities are transforming. The country’s main New Year tree was cut down in the Moscow region, RIA Novosti correspondent reported.
The selection of the Christmas tree was carried out according to strict criteria: its shape, density of needles, condition and appearance of the branches. The spruce was found near the village of Znamenka in the Mozhaisk urban district. It is 90 years old, its height is 25 meters, its trunk diameter is 60 centimeters, and its branch span is 8 meters.
Previously, the Tenderplan service published data on which Russian cities plan to spend the most money on New Year’s celebrations. The results were shared by Gazeta.Ru. According to the research, the top five cities that will spend the most to create a festive atmosphere in public spaces are as follows: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.
