Conor McGregor has vowed to appeal his defeat in his civil sexual assault case. However, the UFC star admitted that he made a mistake.

McGregor said on his social media page that he needed time to think before publicly reacting to what had happened, but he was now ready to speak out. “As much as I regret it, what happened that night was by mutual consent. All witnesses swore to do so. I have instructed my legal team to appeal this decision. I cannot go back and I will go forward. The athlete said: “I am extremely grateful to my family, friends and supporters around the world who remain by my side. “I’m grateful,” he wrote.

The athlete is struggling to save his reputation after McGregor and his friend James Lawrence were accused of harassing their acquaintance Nikita Ní Laimhín. The fighter himself did not deny sexual contact but insisted that it occurred by mutual consent. After admitting his guilt, the athlete was ordered to pay approximately 250 thousand euros (26.9 million rubles -). Note ed.) as compensation for moral damage.
