P Diddy’s case took an unexpected turn. Justice took his side after the hasty actions of law enforcement agencies.

A federal judge says he will not consider evidence obtained during a surprise search of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ jail cell at his upcoming bail hearing. This represents a victory for the music mogul at this stage, People writes.

The prosecution was also instructed to destroy copies of the 19-page notes obtained from the raid. P. Diddy showed up to Tuesday’s hearing without handcuffs and appeared calmer. The first thing he did in the courtroom was hug his lawyers.

The hearing was scheduled after the rap mogul, who is accused of sex trafficking and racketeering, claimed attorney-client privilege was violated. The musician’s attorney launched the search, which resulted in the seizure of Diddy’s personal records, outrageous government conduct, and violations of due process.

“We take notes when we visit him in prison. They include everything we talked about. “We discuss case strategy, who we need to talk to, everything with the defendant,” Combs’ attorney, Mark Agnifilo, said at Tuesday’s hearing. The lawyer emphasized that the prosecutor’s office could use the information for its own purposes.

Deputy Prosecutor Kristi Slavik said at the hearing that the records taken from Combs’ cell did not contain legal notes. These were mostly about personal matters, including birthdays and inspirational quotes. Slavik emphasized at the hearing that the investigation continues.

We recently wrote about Diddy’s attempt to interfere with the investigation. The rapper called people on his cell phone who were not on the approved list. He exercised his right to search eight other prisoners.

The Bad Boy Records founder has been held in a Brooklyn detention center since his arrest in September. So far, he has been denied bail twice by two different judges due to concerns about potential witness tampering. The third bail hearing is scheduled for Friday, November 22.
